Track Name: Daylight
It's worst when the light's out and he can see clearly through my eyes. Most days I'm left to wonder why he leaves me any bit of control. Why he doesn't just take over.
Who am I? Who are we?
Well, I must admit, I'm flattered. But, I should really let you know that those ain't stars in my eyes; they're satellites.
Just 'cause he won't, don't mean he can't.
Track Name: Seed
"Remember, don't panic." I say to myself again and again. Douglas' advice rings true through today.
When I'm gone, put me in the ground. No, don't use a box. Just me in the dirt; returning to earth.
In the meantime, I need to silence my desire to set fire to your car, to pour salt in your wounds. You're a slug. You're a leach. Suck the life out of me while I sit here thankful that nothing lasts forever, thank fuck for that.
This is where we can start over. New life from the same dead body. A new disease from the same host. One chance to renew.
Return to earth.
Track Name: Wart
I've been stricken with the inability to dream.
Seeking comfort in the ground until I sleep free again.
I have not gotten a second of rest in a year.
Track Name: I'm So Sad, So Very, Very Sad
So sad.
Track Name: Suicide Pact
"Write what you know," I know I am miserable.
My security blanket smothers me.
Double-vision is second nature to me at this point. As long as my gullet's full, I feel I'm doing alright.
When the morning comes, it's all the same; another 8-hour day until I can drink myself well again. Normal is not a normal term.
The walls around this heart aren't water-tight. And every Friday night, they continue to erode from dark and foamy sea that I call home.
